Grilled cheese is often a favorite of any school-aged child. This Three Cheese Grilled Cheese recipe is a regular grilled cheese sandwich with an extra punch of taste! Why not serve this with one of the soups in the other categories on this site? It’s the perfect lunch or light dinner combo!
Step by Step Instructions
Spread butter on each slice of bread, only on one side. Then heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Put two slices of bread slices in the skillet, putting the buttered side down. Put a slice each of America, Swiss and cheddar cheese on each of the pieces of bread and cover with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
Cook the sandwiches, pressing them occasionally with a spatula, until the cheeses melt and bread is golden (about 3 to 4 minutes per side).
Repeat to make two more sandwiches.
Slice each of the sandwiches diagonally in half, and then return to the hot pan, cut-side down. This will create a crust on the cheese.
Notes
Experiment with different cheeses that you have on hand! Perhaps add in some mozzarella, havarti or some marble cheeses – whatever your child enjoys. You can even add a slice of pickle or two on the side.
