Transform ordinary and boring toast into cars (or other shapes) that will have your pre-schooler excited to eat. You can use any shaped cookie cutters for this recipe to interest your child. Letting your child help you make Fun Toast will give him or her the opportunity to help in the breakfast making, as well as help to develop his fine motor skills.
Step by Step Instructions
Put a slice of toast in the toaster until it is lightly browned. Place a thin slice of cheese on top (if you are using it) and heat in oven or toaster oven just until the cheese is melted.
Put the piece of toast on the cutting board. Allow your pre-schooler to center the cutter on the slice of toast and push down on it until the shape is cut.
Have your pre-schooler choose the topping he or she wants and spread it on the toast.
Enjoy!
Notes
Save the scrap pieces of bread instead of letting it go to waste. Use the pieces for making bread crumbs or croutons or use them to make bread pudding.
