Getting pre-schoolers to eat fruit can be a tough job! This Fruit Kebobs recipe was created with this fact in mind. Pre-schoolers will find it fun to not only eat the Fruit Kebobs but might even be interested in making them too (provided the wooden skewers are not too sharp and the child is adequately supervised).
Step by Step Instructions
Prepare the fruit: wash the fruit, cut the apples into small squares, peel and then cut the banana into chunks, cut the pineapple into chunks.
Spread coconut onto a fairly large plate.
Slide the pieces of fruit onto the skewer, designing the kebob by adding as much or as little of the fruit as you wish. Alternate the pieces of fruit until the stick is covered except for a bit of space at the ends of the kebob.
Hold the kebob at each end and roll the kebob first in the yogurt (so all the pieces of fruit is covered) then into theshredded coconut.
Repeat the steps with the next skewer.
Notes
The kebobs can be rolled in other ingredients instead of coconut. Give nuts, granola or raisins a try! The nutritional value of each fruit kebob depends on the ingredients used on the kebob.
