Egg Casserole

Ingredients

  • Slices of bread (or bread torn into pieces)
  • Cooked and crumbled bacon ( or cooked sausage, ham cut in cubes)
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or any other type of cheese you choose)

  • Greased baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Plastic wrap

This egg casserole recipe is an easy to prepare children’s breakfast meal. It uses less than six common ingredients, which are easy to have on hand. It is a tasty way to get your pre-schooler to eat eggs and to have a full tummy before heading out for the day!

Step by Step Instructions

Grease a 13X9 baking dish and then place the bread so it covers the bottom of the pan.

In the mixing bowl, beat together the milk and eggs. Stir in the cheese.

Pour the egg mixture over the bread.

Sprinkle the top of the bread with bacon, sausage or ham and then cover with plastic wrap.

Store the dish in the refrigerator overnight.

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake in oven for about 40-50 minutes,, or until knife comes out clean when inserted in the middle of the dish.

Notes

This Egg Casserole recipe should be prepared the day before and kept in the fridge overnight. This makes it simple to serve for breakfast in the morning – just stick it in the oven while everyone is getting ready and then sit down to eat!
